Most modern routers are designed to support VoIP and SIP out of the box; however, if you are experiencing issues with your phone service such as: one-way audio, call drops, or trouble making/receiving calls, check these basic settings:
- Enable port forwarding for 5060 TCP
- Enable port forwarding for 10,000 UDP to 20,000 UDP
If your router supports settings for SIP ALG, QoS, and other VOIP firewall settings, toggle these settings or refer to the manufactureâs guide to determine the best configuration for your network.
